Hair Product Review: Shea Moisture

IMG-20160320-WA0006I went to Walgreens recently, just to purchase somethings here and there (ya know!) and Lo’ & Behold, they were having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on hair products! I just could not pass this up, because I really wanted to try some new hair products. So, I ended up purchasing the Shea Moisture: Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo & Conditioner, and I got the Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie for freeeee! I then thought to myself “Gurl, why not do a review on these products, b/c someone might just need it” and I said “you is right gurl, you is correct!” So here goes!

Shampoo: I had just taken out my cornrows that I rocked for a looooong time, so my hair was in need of a real cleanse and hydration. After the using the shampoo twice (I washed and rinsed twice) I could definitely feel the difference in my hair. It was SOFTER , and felt really HYDRATED. IMG-20160320-WA0007Also, my hair did not feel rubbery and super stripped like it does when I wash it most times, so that was a plus.

Conditioner: The conditioner is amazing! After I put the product in my hair that I sectioned out, I left it on for about 10-15 minutes, then I rinsed it off. I have 4c+nappy Nigerian hair, so my hair is a monster to tame/detangle. But, after I rinsed the conditioner off, I immediately tried to detangle my hair and the comb went straight through! If I were to compare this to the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Conditioner, I personally would pick the Hydration conditioner! This product definitely does all the things they claimed it would do on the packaging!

Curl Enhancing Smoothie:  Initially, I was a little skeptical about using this product and if it’ll actually make a difference in my hair, because my hair rarely maintains any definition from a braid out, twist out, Bantu knot out, etc  After I applied the product(quite generously) on each section, and I braided my hair in about 8 cornrows. Then I let it work its magic overnight, and I took the braids out around mid-afternoon the next day. The braid out was really defined! My hair was also bouncy, and not weighed down like I assumed it would be due the amount of product I put in my hair. (see picture below)IMG-20160320-WA0015 (1)

I truly loved trying out all these products, and I would definitely recommend you try them out as well (at least try the conditioner!) Also, I hope this review was helpful. Any comments or questions, please do put them in the comment section below!

Much Love!
